What Guests Can See Before the Reveal

Before reveal, guests see a locked capsule with the opening time and a count of photos captured so far — never the photos themselves, and never another guest's uploads.

Event Capsule Team · Updated

The capsule stays sealed

Before the reveal time, the gallery shows a "Capsule locked" screen instead of photos. Guests see when the capsule opens and how many photos have been captured so far — never the images themselves, and never anybody else's uploads.

What a guest can see

  • The event name and the date and time the capsule opens.
  • A running count of photos captured so far across the whole event.
  • Their own remaining photo allowance on the upload screen, and thumbnails of the photos they added during the current session.

What a guest cannot see

  • Any photo uploaded by another guest.
  • Full-size versions of anything in the capsule.
  • The downloadable set of event photos, which unlocks only at reveal.

What you should see

Opening the gallery before reveal shows the locked capsule card with the opening time and a photo count — the surprise is preserved for everyone.

The host's view is different

Hosts can review uploads before the reveal from their dashboard so they can hide anything unsuitable. That review view exists for moderation, and full-resolution downloads still stay locked until reveal. See how hosts review and hide photos before reveal.

At reveal time

When the reveal time passes, the gallery unlocks for everyone with the link and the approved photos appear together, along with the slideshow. See how the upload window and reveal time work.
