How Hosts Review and Hide Photos Before Reveal

Hosts can review every uploaded photo from the dashboard before the reveal and mark any of them hidden or deleted. Only approved photos ever appear in the guest gallery, the slideshow or a download.

What moderation does

Every uploaded photo has a moderation state. Approved photos are the only ones that reach the guest gallery, the slideshow or a download. Hidden and deleted photos are removed from all of those surfaces while remaining visible to you in the dashboard, so you can see exactly what you acted on.

Review your photos

  1. Open your host dashboard and go to the photo review section.
  2. Browse the uploads. Before the reveal, previews are shown at reduced resolution — enough to review, not a full-resolution copy.
  3. Hide a photo to keep it out of the gallery while leaving it recoverable.
  4. Delete a photo to remove it from every guest-facing view.
  5. Restore a hidden photo at any time if you change your mind.

What you should see

The counts at the top of the review section update, and only the approved set is what guests will see when the capsule opens.

Good to know

  • Guests are never told that a specific photo was hidden or deleted.
  • Moderation is available before the reveal, so you can review as photos arrive.
  • Full-resolution downloads stay locked until the reveal time, for hosts too.

Troubleshooting

  • Photos look lower quality than expected. Pre-reveal previews are intentionally reduced. The full-resolution files are available in the download after reveal.
  • A hidden photo still appears in your dashboard. That is expected — the dashboard shows all states so you can audit them. Guests do not see hidden photos.
