How the Upload Window and Reveal Time Work
The upload window is the period when guests can add photos. The reveal time is when the capsule opens. Photos stay sealed until the reveal, and uploads always close by then at the latest.

Two separate times
- The upload window has a start and an end. Guests can add photos only between those two times.
- The reveal time is when the capsule opens. Until then the gallery stays sealed for everyone.
Uploads always close by the reveal time at the latest. An event can have a window that closes earlier — for example uploads ending when the party does, with the reveal the following morning.
Timezones and long events
- Times are interpreted in the event's own timezone, so guests in other places see the correct local moment.
- Windows that run past midnight are handled correctly.
- An event window can span up to seven days from start to end.
What you should see
Before the window opens, guests see that uploads have not started. During the window they can upload. After the reveal, the gallery unlocks and the slideshow becomes available.
Check the times before you confirm
The upload window and reveal time are set when the event is created, and they cannot currently be edited from the host dashboard afterwards. Review both carefully on the create screen — including the timezone — before you confirm the event.

Troubleshooting
- "Uploads are closed for this event." The upload window has ended, or the reveal has already passed.
- Guests say the gallery is empty. Before the reveal the gallery is sealed by design; only a photo count is shown.
