How to Create an Event Capsule
Open the create page, add your event details and a cover image, choose when uploads open and close, set your reveal time, then pick a plan. You get an event code, a guest link and a QR code as soon as the event is created.

Before you start
You need an email address you can check — Event Capsule sends a six-digit code there to confirm you are the host. Nothing else is required.
Create the event
- Open the create page and enter your event name and date.
- Add a cover image if you want one. Cover images must be JPEG, PNG or WebP.
- Set the upload window — the time uploads open and the time they close. The window is stored with your event's timezone, so it shows correctly for you and for guests wherever they are.
- Set the reveal time. Photos stay sealed until this moment, and uploads close by the reveal at the latest.
- Choose a plan. The plan sets how many guests can join and how many photos each guest can upload.
- Enter your email and confirm the six-digit code sent to it. This verifies you as the host in the same window.
What you should see
Your host dashboard opens with your event code, guest link and QR code ready to share.
Timing limits to know
- An event window can span up to seven days from start to end. Longer windows are not accepted.
- Times are interpreted in the event's timezone, so an overnight party that runs past midnight works as expected.
- Uploads must close by the reveal time — guests cannot add photos to a capsule that has already opened.
Troubleshooting
- Cover image rejected. Only JPEG, PNG and WebP images are accepted. Convert HEIC or other formats first.
- Confirmation code did not arrive. Check spam, then request a new code. Codes are single-use and expire.
- Window rejected as too long. Shorten the event window to seven days or fewer.
