How Guests Join and Upload Photos
Guests scan the event QR code or open the guest link, type a name, and start adding photos. There is no app to install and no account to create.

Joining an event
- Scan the host's QR code, or open the guest link they shared.
- Enter a name so the host knows who contributed. That is the only detail asked for.
- Start adding photos while the upload window is open.
Adding photos
- Take a photo with the camera directly from the upload screen, or
- Pick existing photos from the phone's library — several at once is fine.
- Image files are what an Event Capsule accepts.
- A counter shows how many photos remain against the event's per-guest limit.
What you should see
Each uploaded photo is confirmed on screen and counted towards the guest's allowance. Photos stay sealed until the host's reveal time.
Do guests need an app or an account?
No. Everything happens in the phone's normal web browser:
- No mobile app is required — there is nothing to download or install.
- No guest account or password is required — there is no sign-up step.
- Guests simply enter a name when they join.
- Guest access uses a time-limited session. If a guest comes back much later, the session may have expired and they rejoin with the same link or QR code.
For the wider explanation of why browser-based uploads get more guests contributing, read no-app event photo sharing.
Troubleshooting
- "Your session expired." Open the guest link or scan the QR code again to rejoin.
- Uploads are refused. See why a guest can't upload photos for what each message means.
