Why a Guest Session Expires and How to Rejoin

Guest access uses a session that lasts 24 hours. When it runs out, the guest opens the link or QR code again, enters a name, and carries on. Photos already uploaded stay in the capsule.

What the message means

Guests do not create an account. Instead, joining an event issues a time-limited guest session that lasts 24 hours. Once it runs out, the upload screen shows "Your session expired. Please rejoin the event." This is about the guest's access only — the event and every photo already uploaded are unaffected.

How to get back in

  1. Open the guest link again, or rescan the event QR code.
  2. Enter a name as before.
  3. Continue adding photos while the upload window is still open.

What you should see

Rejoining takes a few seconds and returns the guest to the same upload screen. Photos already in the capsule remain there and are still counted.

Things to know before rejoining

  • Rejoining adds a new contributor entry to the event, and that counts towards the plan's guest limit. On a small plan with a nearly full guest list, ask the host before everyone rejoins.
  • The per-guest photo allowance applies to the new entry, so a guest who rejoins is not blocked by their earlier uploads.
  • Clearing browser data or switching to a different phone or browser also ends the session — the same rejoin steps apply.
